Wildflower Walk

Join us for a slow stroll on nearby easy to moderate trails as we appreciate native blooming plants and other flora and fauna of our area. Walks will be led by naturalists, birders, botanists and wildflower enthusiasts. Scroll down for information on couple of noteworthy walks we have lined up for this season! These are not to be missed!

These FREE walks will occur every Thursday from May 22-July 17 (with the exception of July 3). We will rendezvous at Sawtooth Botanical Garden at 9am and follow each other or carpool to the trailhead. Children under 14 are welcome with an adult. No dogs please! Bring clothing appropriate for changing weather, hiking shoes (leave those flip fops and dress shoes at home, folks), sun protection, plenty of water and a lunch for yourself. A camera, field guide, binoculars and notebook may help with identifying and remembering plants.

We have a couple of special walks in the queue for this season:

May 22nd-Camas Prairie with Nolan Brown and Bailey Dann, members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. Visit the prairie, learn about the tribe’s relationship with the camas and surrounding prairie and get informed about active threats to the cherished prairie.

May 29th-Democrat Gulch with the Wood River Land Trust. Learn about the natural flora and fauna and hear all about the WRLT’s exciting effort to acquire 2,300 acres of Hailey Hot Springs (formerly Democrat Ranch) land in their long-term stewardship project.
