The Language of Watercolor with Don Andrews – FULL

Don Andrews Watercolor

We are delighted to host nationally acclaimed watercolorist Don Andrews for a summer workshop at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden July 19-21 (Tuesday-Thursday). The workshop will be held from 10 AM – 3 PM each day.

“Through the language of watercolor, artists explore the world around them in fresh, exciting and personal ways. My landscape workshops are geared to a better understanding of that personal exploration,” Don wrote in an email.

Each day, he will stress a major visual concern; light, color, granulation, organizing nature and utilizing negative space are just a few subjects to be addressed.  Workshops aren’t geared to any specific level of achievement; rather artists at all levels will benefit from a more intimate understanding of the painting possibilities available in the exciting world of landscape painting. This workshop will be packed with demonstrations, discussions, individual help, personal and group critiques.

Cost: $275

Class Limit: 12 participants – FULL

Instructor: Don Andrews is a nationally known watercolor artist and workshop instructor. He is a graduate of Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and a resident of Fairhope, Alabama.  An active member and past board director of the American Watercolor Society, his paintings have received numerous awards in national watercolor competitions, including three awards from the American Watercolor Society.

Don has conducted painting workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe for over 30 years.

He is the author of the books, “Interpreting the Landscape in Watercolor,” “Interpreting the Figure in Watercolor,” and “Rough Sketches, Short Stories of a Traveling Artist,” as well as twelve DVDs on watercolor painting.
