STE(A)M = Science, Technology, Engineering, Math + Art!

If you’re an educator you’ll want to sign up for Focus on STE(A)M in the Forest, a professional development workshop offered October 27-28 at SBG. We’re pleased to partner with nationally recognized Project Learning Tree and local nonprofits Environmental Resource Center, Blaine County 4-H and Sawtooth National Recreation Area to offer this outstanding workshop.  It’s perfect for classroom teachers, non-formal educators, interested parents and other adults who work with children, too!

At this workshop, we’ll investigate Idaho’s trees, forests and forest products in a STEAM context – Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math.  We’ll do hands-on inquiry activities from Project Learning Tree and other programs, indoors and out. Identify and measure trees. Make your own paper and test paper qualities. You’ll leave eager and equipped with abundant resources to explore these topics and activities with your students. Plus, you’ll enjoy a beautiful fall weekend with your colleagues!

(Fee refunded if you cancel at least one week before the workshop; online registrants who cancel forfeit a $5 handling fee.) PLT Instructor

  • Michelle Youngquist/Idaho PLT coordinator and certified assistant. All PLT workshops have great activities that help educators accomplish curricular goals in meaningful ways, and are offered for professional education credit (for recertification).  There is no prerequisite for these workshops, but we highly recommend taking the General PLT workshop early in your PLT “career.” You’ll want to take them all!
