Medicinal Native Plants for Teas | A Workshop with Darcy Williamson
June 2 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$60
Meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden. Sunday morning begins with an outing into surrounding forests for harvesting herbs, barks and roots for making a variety of herbal teas. What we gather will depend upon what the season has provided for us. Bring a sack lunch for our noon break, followed by a recap of plants harvested and their medicinal values in tea as we.
Once we have returned to the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, we will garble (prepare our plant material) before sorting and blending our teas. Plan to finish the day at 5:00 P.M.
At day’s end each student taking only the tea making class will receive a copy of Healing Plants of the Rocky Mountains, a Native American Medicine Plant Chart, plus muslin bags and labels for storing their herbal teas and blends. Those taking the combined classes with have received their book and medicine plant poster Saturday.
Cost is $60 per student. Students taking both of Darcy Williamson’s classes (see also Medicinal Native Plants for Making Salves) will receive a $15 discount for a total of $120. Students taking both classes will receive one copy of Darcy’s book and the medicine chart. Register online at sbgarden.org, call in with payment, or stop by the garden.
