Medicinal Native Plants for Making Salves | A Workshop with Darcy Williamson
June 12 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
One event on June 13, 2021 at 9:00 am
This 2-day workshop will start Saturday, June 12th and will continue Sunday, June 13th. Both days we will meet at Sawtooth Botanical Garden at 9:00AM. As a group we will go on an outing into surrounding forests for harvesting herbs, barks and roots for medicinal salve, lip balm making and tea. What we gather will depend upon what the season has provided for us. At noon we will break for lunch. After lunch there will be a recap of plants harvested and their medicinal values in salves, balms, and teas. Once we have returned to the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, we will garble (prepare our plant material) before making our salves, balms, and teas. Plan to finish both days at 5:00PM.
At end of the second day student will receive a copy of Healing Plants of the Rocky Mountains, a Native American Medicine Plant Chart, five finished salves and ten lip balms.
Cost is $230 members and $235 for nonmembers. Students taking for all three days of Darcy Williamson’s classes (also see Herbal Soap Making) will receive a $10 discount and will only receive one copy of Darcy’s book and the medicine chart.
Blaine County Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.
