Dry Brush Watercolor Techniques for Botanical Painting
July 29 @ 9:30 am - July 31 @ 3:30 pm$400
Instructor: Carrie DiConstanzo
Participants will learn how to replicate the form, colors, and details of botanical subjects using the dry brush method of watercolor. This method emphasizes using small amounts of water to achieve control with the pigment. Demonstrations will include color mixing, working light to dark, glazing, and painting fine details with small brushstrokes. The Instructor will demonstrate using small subjects and the students will be encouraged to experiment with this method. Sawtooth Botanical Garden will provide botanical subjects, such as plants, seeds and pods. Individual help with materials and techniques will be offered throughout the duration of the workshop.
