Sunflower Children's Center
The Sawtooth Botanical Garden is a place for children to learn about regional ecology and organic gardening with interactive, hands-on classes. Our children's programs are designed for boys and girls ages 2-11. Teachers strive to instill a sense of ecological responsibility and natural stewardship practices through school outreach, summer camps, toddler programs and seasonal events including the Spring Bug Zoo. We hope to plant these seeds of practical knowledge and life skills for future generations to live in appreciation and balance within our shared, natural world.

Children's Discovery Corner
Families are welcome to visit the Discovery Corner inside the Visitor and Education Center. This free of charge, self-guided program provides age specific activities for children ages 2-7+ which lead them throughout the garden discovering plants, insects, birds and native ecology. Lesson plans are provided and accompanied with learning tools including insect catching nets, binoculars, compasses and much more. Craft projects also accompany many of the activities combining the exploration of nature and creativity. Generously sponsored by the Richard K. and Shirley S. Hemingway Foundation.
